Untitled (After Jay)
Untitled (After Jay) features 35mm color slides from my father's archive, dating from 1998 to 2006. As is evident in the images, he was an avid amateur landscape photographer who loved the outdoors. In making this work, I was drawn to the massive accumulation of slides themselves, as well as to the beauty of the images and the places they represent. The work is a testament to an earlier era of photography and its material remains, to fragile landscapes under increasing duress, and to the life of my dad.
